Humanoids - S/T

Hailing from St. Louis, MO, Humanoids have been tearing up the Midwest since the band’s inception in late 2006. Greg Stinson (guitar), while still in post-melodic thrashcore outfit Step On It!, conspired with Shaun Morrissey (drums) to recreate pop punk in the vein of the Lillingtons -- the Lillingtons’ “Don’tTrust the Humanoids” being, perhaps, the most damning evidence of the band’s influence.

After writing several songs, it became clear that something was lacking: more personalities and talents to round out the sound. Enter Ryan Zimmerman (bass), also of Step On It!, and the Brothers Clarkson, Bryan (guitar) and Tim (vocals).

Their debut EP…Are Born, which was first issued on CD and later re-released on vinyl via Minneapolis’ Rock Bottom Records -- just in time for the Humanoids’ performance at NO IDEA’s “The Fest 6.” Reviews liken them to Dillinger Four, which while flattering, proved that the Humanoids had missed the mark on Lillingtons homage. “I read once that our song ‘Targets’ was a direct rip off of a D4 song. I happen to know that it’s not. We were stealing from St. Louis’ very own Ultraman, who in turn were probably copying a Samiam riff,” explains Morrissey.

Humanoids maintain a full schedule of Midwest shows, including a run of dates this summer with Off With Their Heads, Dead to Me and the Riverboat Gamblers.
